Job Summary

As an Accounting SDM, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and accounting processes of our clients. You will lead a team of accountants and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.

Responsibilities

Service Delivery Management:

  • Oversee financial operations and accounting functions for multiple client accounts.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely billing and collections.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Act as a primary escalation point for team and client, escalating to Senior SDM as needed.


Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of accountants, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to foster professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the accounting team.
  • Manage the hiring process for your assigned accounts focusing on hiring qualified team member on time and within budget.


Account Management:

 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their accounting needs.
  • Lead monthly SLR meetings with clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique requirements and ensuring customer satisfaction (NPS).
  • Provide proactive financial advice and guidance to clients, offering solutions to improve their financial performance.
  • Address client inquiries and resolve any accounting-related issues promptly and professionally.


Operational Management:

  • Manage productivity and cost budgets for assigned accounts.
  • Manage daily staff utilization and organize workload to maximize delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
  • Coordinate and manage the preparation of financial reports and tax filings.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.


Innovation:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and automation within the accounting department.
  • Implement best practices and streamline workflows to optimize operational effectiveness.
  • Leverage accounting software and technology to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Skills and Experience

 

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in Accounting or finance, with progressive responsibilities and at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership position, leading groups of up to 50.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • (Licenciatura) Bachelor's degree in accounting career. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepting accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
