Job Summary

The Sr Systems Engineer. is responsible for administering and supporting the client’s operating system environments according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of system availability and performance. This role involves solutioning, automating, and resolving escalated service issues, and maintaining efficient operations management. 

Responsibilities

  • Design and define operating runbooks.  
  • Coach junior engineers for issue resolution. 
  • Responsible for designing and defining operating runbooks. 
  • Be available for other engineers and coach them to a resolution. 
  • Provide L2 troubleshooting escalated support for datacenter operations, WAN/LAN connectivity, and security. 
  • Manage queue and ticket prioritization. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis and maintain device performance.  
  • Assist with client migrations and complex projects. 
  • Deploy, maintain, and lead cloud & on-premises datacenter solutions. 
  • Provide recommendations to improve the client's operating environment and datacenter technologies. 
  • Support the sales team in solution opportunities. 
  • Manage complex technical problems. 
  • Provide a monthly analytics report of team performance & capacity. 
  • Overseeing the compliance of Auxis' operating processes. 
  • Provide technical training for the team.  
  • Stay updated on relevant technologies. 
  • Make recommendations for performance improvements and automation.

 

Skills and Experience

Experience:  

  • 6+ years working experience in related field. 
  • Strong experience with Microsoft server operating systems, MS Entra ID, Linux, Virtualization and Cloud Technologies. 
  • Proven experience with large, complex server-based cloud environments. 
  • Experience with creating documents such as server procedures. 
  • Participate in 24x7 on call support rotation.  

Education:  

  • Computer Science, Engineering, IT bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience. 

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced skills in monitoring systems performance and backup technologies. 
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization and Cloud operations. 
  • Scripting abilities in languages such as PowerShell, VB script, BAT, etc. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Knowledge in ITIL. 

Additional Requirements (depending on role): 

  • Linux  
  • Knowledge of Linux distributions: RedHat, Amazon Linux, CentOS 
  • Ability to write scripts using languages such as Shell, Python, etc. 
  • Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP 

 

  • Windows 
  • Knowledge of Windows versions: 2012 and above. 
  • Scripting abilities in languages such as PowerShell, VB script, BAT, etc. 
  • Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP. 
  • Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and MS Entra ID. 

Required Technical Proficiencies 

  • Azure Administrator or above.  
  • AWS SysOps or above. 
  • ITIL 4 Foundations 

 

Language Skills:  

  • English Level B2+
