Job Summary

The Intune Engineer is responsible to support and grow a modern endpoint management practice. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on Intune experience and is ready to take on broader ownership with guidance—covering device enrollment, policy support, app deployments, compliance, and troubleshooting across Windows endpoints (plus mobile/macOS exposure if available).

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operations of Microsoft Intune (MEM) for Windows devices (and optionally macOS/iOS/Android).

  • Assist with creation and maintenance of:

    • Configuration profiles (Wi-Fi, VPN, certificates, device restrictions)

    • Compliance policies and reporting

    • Endpoint security policies (security baselines, BitLocker, Defender settings)

  • Help manage Windows Autopilot workflows: device prep, profile assignments, enrollment troubleshooting, and documentation.

  • Package and deploy applications using Intune:

    • Win32 apps, Microsoft Store apps, M365 Apps

    • Basic detection rules, requirements, and assignments

  • Support Windows patching strategy via Windows Update for Business (rings, quality/feature updates, deadlines) under senior guidance.

  • Troubleshoot common endpoint issues (policy not applying, app install failures, enrollment errors, compliance mismatch) and escalate complex cases appropriately.

  • Maintain and improve documentation (runbooks, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides).

  • Collaborate with Service Desk to improve Tier 1/2 resolution through knowledge transfer and repeatable processes.

  • Participate in change management activities (testing, rollout planning, post-change validation).

Skills and Experience

Experience

  • 1–3 years in IT Support, Desktop Support, or Endpoint/EUC administration with hands-on exposure to Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager).

  • Practical experience supporting Windows 10/11 device management (join types, user/device troubleshooting, basic security posture).

  • Experience assisting with Intune device enrollment (Company Portal, enrollment restrictions, device cleanup) and basic Autopilot support preferred.

  • Experience supporting policy deployment (configuration profiles, compliance policies) and troubleshooting when policies don’t apply.

  • Experience with application deployment using Intune (Microsoft 365 Apps, Microsoft Store apps, basic Win32 apps).

  • Experience supporting patching via Windows Update for Business (rings, deadlines) under guidance.

  • Experience documenting procedures/runbooks and collaborating with Service Desk (Tier 1/2) and Security/Identity teams.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Preferred: Microsoft certification in progress or completed (e.g., MD-102) or willingness to obtain within the first months.

 

Technical Skill

  • Endpoint management fundamentals (device lifecycle, provisioning, compliance concepts).

  • Strong troubleshooting skills (root cause analysis, clear escalation notes, log-based triage).

  • Basic scripting/automation skills with PowerShell (reading/editing scripts, simple automation tasks).

  • Solid Windows fundamentals (OS, drivers, networking basics, certificates awareness).

 

Technical Proficiencies

  • Microsoft Intune (MEM): device enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, app assignments, basic reporting.

  • Windows 10/11: administration and troubleshooting.

  • Entra ID: device join concepts, groups, RBAC awareness.

  • Windows Update for Business: update rings and rollout concepts.

  • Microsoft 365: client apps (Teams/OneDrive/Outlook) support exposure.

  • Nice to have: Autopilot profile management, Defender for Endpoint basics, Conditional Access understanding, Microsoft Graph fundamentals.

 

Language skill

  • English: B2+
