Job Summary

 The primary purpose of this role is to provide support for employment compliance and regulations (federal, state, local) through the HR case management system and review of related data. This includes execution, problem resolution, and escalation support. Responds to moderately complex employee inquiries submitted through the case management system regarding HR compliance issues. Additionally, this role is responsible for processing and managing unemployment claims through external state agency portals, including reviewing documentation, responding to agency requests, and ensuring timely and compliant submissions.

This role will also execute and monitor audit programs to ensure HR compliance. As such, the role must exercise a significant amount of discretion in handling and dealing with sensitive and confidential matters as well as data related to the company and its current and former associates. The role will partner with Centers of Excellence (CoEs), leaders, HR business partners, and other stakeholders to resolve escalated issues, requests, or concerns.

Responsibilities

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Provides support through the HR case management (ticketing) system and external compliance-related portals for current and former employees regarding HR compliance programs, policies, procedures, issues, and questions.
  • Processes and manages unemployment claims through applicable state agency portals, including reviewing claim documentation, responding to agency requests, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring timely and compliant submissions.
  • Supports all HR policies and ensures alignment with external regulations and internal company compliance requirements.
  • Acquires data from primary and/or secondary data sources, maintains data in appropriate systems, and evaluates and monitors data.
  • Identifies trends and makes recommendations for opportunities that would improve efficiencies and compliance.
  • Discreetly handles sensitive employee reports or information.
  • Performs routine audits to monitor compliance with employment and regulatory ethical standards and escalates issues as necessary to minimize risk.

  1. Technical Competencies

 

  1. Academic
  • High school or GED
  • English Level of a B2+
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (HR, Labor Law, Business, etc)

 

  1. Experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources with responsibility for employment compliance activities (Experience supporting compliance programs such as I-9 employment eligibility verification, labor law posters, unemployment claim administration, and employment verifications is a plus)
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing cases or requests through an HR case management or ticketing system.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.

Preferred:

  • Experience using ServiceNow or other case management tools.
  • Experience responding to state agency inquiries or audits.
