Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to support employment compliance with federal, state, and local regulations through the HR case management system and the review of related data. This includes execution of processes, issue resolution, and escalation support. The role responds to moderately complex employee inquiries related to HR compliance submitted through the case management system.

Additionally, this position is responsible for processing and managing unemployment claims through external state agency portals, including reviewing documentation, responding to agency requests, and ensuring timely and compliant submissions.

This role also executes and monitors audit programs to ensure ongoing HR compliance. It requires a high level of discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information related to the organization and its current and former employees. The position partners closely with Centers of Excellence (CoEs), business leaders, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders to resolve escalated issues, requests, and concerns.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provides support through HR case management (ticketing) systems and external compliance portals, addressing inquiries from current and former employees related to HR programs, policies, procedures, and compliance matters
  • Processes and manages unemployment claims through state agency portals, including reviewing documentation, responding to agency requests, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring timely and compliant submissions
  • Supports the implementation and maintenance of HR policies, ensuring alignment with applicable regulations and internal compliance standards
  • Collects, maintains, and analyzes data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity within designated systems
  • Identifies trends and provides recommendations to improve operational efficiency and strengthen compliance practices
  • Handles sensitive and confidential employee information with a high level of discretion
  • Conducts routine audits to ensure adherence to employment laws, regulations, and ethical standards; escalates issues as needed to mitigate risk

Technical Competencies

Academic Background

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • English proficiency: B2+ or higher

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Human Resources, Labor Law, Business Administration, or similar)

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources, with exposure to employment compliance activities

  • Familiarity with compliance processes such as I-9 verification, labor law postings, unemployment claims, and employment verifications is a plus

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and compliance requirements

  • Experience managing cases or requests through HR case management or ticketing systems

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities

  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar case management tools

  • Experience responding to state agency inquiries or supporting audit processes
