Job Summary

 

The Senior Benefits Analyst will support the reporting and benefits operations area by managing recurring carrier reports, analyzing data, validating information accuracy, and maintaining organized historical records. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple reports and deadlines simultaneously while supporting operational and financial processes related to employee benefits administration.

 

Additionally, this position is expected to contribute to process improvement initiatives, operational organization, reporting optimization, and leadership support activities that strengthen team efficiency and service delivery. The Senior Benefits Analyst may also provide guidance, knowledge sharing, and support to junior analysts or new team members when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee recurring weekly and monthly reports for benefit carriers, primarily Aetna and MetLife.
  • Prepare, review, validate, and submit reports while ensuring data accuracy and timely completion.
  • Analyze discrepancies, identify missing or inconsistent information, and perform the necessary corrections or escalations.
  • Maintain organized historical records, reporting trackers, and operational documentation.
  • Support HSA/FSA reporting processes and additional benefits-related operational reporting activities.
  • Monitor occupancy, utilization, and reporting metrics to support operational visibility and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and client points of contact regarding reporting updates, delays, risks, or issues requiring resolution.
  • Ensure employees are assigned to the correct groups, accounts, or benefit structures within reporting files.
  • Compare current reporting data against prior periods to identify enrollments, removals, variances, or trends.
  • Support reconciliation activities and assist in validating financial and operational reporting accuracy.
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and improvement of reporting processes, trackers, SOPs, and operational documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and workflow optimization to improve team efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Provide support, guidance, and knowledge sharing to junior analysts or new team members as needed.
  • Assist leadership with operational analysis, reporting insights, special projects, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain proactive communication regarding workload, risks, deliverables, and operational concerns.
  • Manage multiple deliverables simultaneously while maintaining compliance with established SLAs and deadlines.
  • Support operational continuity and contribute to overall team stability and performance objectives.

Skills and Experience

  • English/ Spanish proficiency (oral and written) 90% or higher (B2+ or above).
  • Professional degree in Administration, Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • 1–2 years of experience in reporting, benefits administration, HR operations, analytical roles, or related operational environments.
  • Intermediate Excel skills required, including pivot tables, formulas, filtering, lookups, and data validation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple reports, deadlines, and operational priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive employee/client information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Strong ownership mindset, accountability, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and computer systems.
  • This role aligns with Eastern Time Zone operations and follows a US holiday schedule.
  • Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards; additional hours may be required depending on operational needs.
