Job Summary

  • The Collaboration Engineer – Senior Associate is responsible for designing, administering, and optimizing enterprise collaboration platforms across Microsoft 365, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. This role serves as a technical escalation point and drives platform standardization, governance, and operational excellence.
  • The Senior Associate partners closely with Security, Compliance, Identity, and Cloud Platform teams to ensure collaboration services are secure, compliant, and scalable by default.

Responsibilities

Lead administration and optimization of Microsoft 365 collaboration services

  • Design and implement standards for:

o Exchange Online and mail flow

o SharePoint and OneDrive site governance

o Teams architecture and lifecycle management

 

  • Manage and optimize Teams Services (TS) including calling, meetings, and integrations
  • Design and enforce governance, using AvePoint
  •  Implement and manage content lifecycle, retention, and eDiscovery (CEA / EDD) controls in Purview
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of:

o Mail routing and delivery issues

o Collaboration and sharing issues

o Teams performance and reliability problems

 

  •  Act as escalation point for complex incidents and lead root cause analysis
  • Support collaboration platform migrations and feature rollouts
  • Automate administrative and governance tasks where possible
  • Collaborate with Cloud Security on data protection and compliance controls
  • Mentor Associate-level Collaboration Engineers

Skills and Experience

  • English level B2+
  • Technical Skills

 

o Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms

o Deep experience with:

 

  • Exchange Online architecture
  • SharePoint Online and OneDrive governance
  • Microsoft Teams services

o Strong understanding of:

 

  • Identity, access, and information protection
  • Data retention, archiving, eDiscovery, and compliance tooling

o Experience with AvePoint or similar governance

o PowerShell scripting and automation skills preferred

 

  • Professional Skills

o Strong technical ownership and decision-making ability

o Ability to lead complex troubleshooting efforts

o Clear communication with technical and business stakeholders

o Mentoring and knowledge-sharing mindset

 

 

  • Education / Professional Experience/ Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in collaboration or Microsoft 365 engineering roles
  • Microsoft certifications preferred:

o Microsoft 365 Administrator

o Teams or Security & Compliance certifications
